WASHINGTON, DC - The Human Rights Campaign (HRC) and Levi Strauss & Co. have partnered in the fight for marriage equality with the launch of an exclusive t-shirt that promotes marriage for all.
Despite tremendous gains in California and New York and the groundswell of public support for marriage equality, 29 states have constitutional amendments prohibiting marriage for same-sex couples and the federal Defense of Marriage Act (DOMA) singles out lawfully married same-sex couples for unequal treatment under federal law.
The new, custom-designed t-shirt will have an image of just-married cowboy and cowgirl couples on the front, with the message, "Levi's Proudly Supports HRC" on the back.
