Hate crimes down sharply in Canada: StatCan
A Statistics Canada report says the number of violent hate crimes is down overall, but attacks were most prevalent in relation to sexual orientation, accounting for two-thirds. Police documented 1,401 hate crimes in 2010, or 4.1 for every 100,000 people - a rate 18% lower than in 2009, the agency said.
