In the 1980s at the LA Gay and Lesbian Center, peer education programs were hot. We trained young people to provide education, support and a network to LGBT youth in many Los Angeles schools. It was a simple solution to a complex problem ?the rising tide of runaways and throwaways on the streets of Hollywood who inevitably ended up in survival prostitution.
