Dr. Jekyll?s idea is good: he?s been conducting experiments on himself in an attempt to isolate the ?evil gene? that seems to lurk in every human psyche.
By day, he teaches medical students, in one wonderful scene tormenting Sir Danvers Carew (Jerry Monroe) by contradicting his absurd conclusions about a cadaver in front of the students. Jekyll (Steve Murdock) considers this good instruction technique.
But at night, Jekyll takes his own potions and turns into sociopath Edward Hyde, roaming the streets and terrorizing London with unspeakable acts.
?Dr. Jekyll & Mr. Hyde? plays through Nov. 1 at OnStage Playhouse, 291 Third Avenue (near F Street), Chula Vista, California.
