Indiana Teen Commits Suicide After Suffering Anti-LGBT Bullying
The mother of Billy Lucas, a 15-year-old boy from Greensburg, Indiana, found her son dead inside their barn last Thursday after he had hung himself. Lucas previously attended Greensburg High School where he was often picked on by fellow students who called him anti-LGBT slurs. Whether Billy actually identified as gay is not known.Students say the bullying had been getting increasingly worse and that on the same day he?d hung himself, some classmates had told Billy to kill himself. ?People would call him ?f*g? and stuff like that, just make fun of him because he?s different basically,? said student Dillen Swango. ?They said stuff like ?you?re like a piece of crap? and ?you don?t deserve to live.? Different things like that. Talked about how he was gay or whatever.? Other students agree that his bullying was well-known in the school.Yet the principal of the high school says he was not aware of Billy?s situation. He says the school is looking into establishing a committee to address their bullying problem which goes back a long time as a former student, now in his twenties, attested.Related Media Coverage:Fox59 ?
