ANNAPOLIS, Md. ? Voting 12-10, the Maryland House Judiciary Committee sent to the full House a bill that would permit gay marriage.
On Feb. 24, the Senate voted 25-21 to support gay marriage.
Another close vote is expected in the House with passage not guaranteed. Opponents of gay marriage have poured money and volunteers into Maryland, trying to persuade lawmakers to vote against the bill.
Gov. Martin O?Malley, a Democrat, has vowed to sign the bill if it makes it to his desk.
