Montana Senate Passes Bill to Remove Anti-Gay Language from Law
In a 41-9 vote on Wednesday, the Montana Senate approved a bill to remove language from Montana law that criminalizes the lives of LGBT people. The bill has been sponsored by Sen. Tom Facey for many sessions without progressing. It must be read a third time in the Senate before moving to the House for a vote. Sen. Christine Kaufmann (D-Helena) praised the bill, saying, "For the past 20 years I have made a family with another woman, we have been happy, productive members of society and I'm not so much different than people in your communities."Related Media Coverage:KRTV.com - February 23, 2011"MT Senate Votes to Remove Language from Law that Criminalizes Homosexual Acts"http://www.kpax.com/news/mt-senate-votes-to-remove-language-from-law-that-criminalizes-homosexual-acts/
