Remembering Pearl Harbor: Honolulu's Outstanding new Visitor Center
I had the chance last week to tour the outstanding new visitor center installed by the national park service at Pearl Harbor, known officially as World War II Valor in the Pacific National Monument. The attack on Pearl Harbor took place exactly 70 years ago (the official commemoration is this Wednesday, December 7), and a number of events are planned around the visitor center and its exhibits and historic sites, which include memorials to several of the largest ships sunken during the raid (including the restored Battleship Missouri) and the USS Arizona Memorial. The park service unveiled its exceptional new $58 million visitor center in 2010, and they've done a fantastic job presenting the history of this solemn, pivotal event - definitely try to check it out if you haven't visited Pearl Harbor since the new exhibits opened....Read Full Post
