San Diego County Sheriff's Dept. offers free vacation checks

SAN DIEGO -- Going away for the holidays? The San Diego County Sheriff's Department has got your back. More than 400 members of the Sheriff's Senior Volunteer Patrol (SVP) will be keeping a watchful eye on people's homes during their out-of-town holiday travels.
Those who live in the jurisdiction of the Sheriff's Department can fill out a form online and submit it to the nearest Sheriff's Station or Substation.

The Sheriff's Department offers free vacation checks year-round by members of the Senior Volunteer Patrol who perform security inspections outside of homes Monday through Friday.
