(Editor's update: After this story was published on the morning of July 2, Commonwealth co-owner Joseph Price notified SDGLN that his business partner's plans to sell their shares of the business changed abruptly and an escrow closing was canceled. This means the venue will remain known as Commonwealth Lounge for the time being, and that the Facebook search for a new name will be canceled. Price says things will be back to business as usual, at least through San Diego Pride weekend, July 18-20.
Commonwealth Lounge at 1263 University Ave. in Hillcrest has temporarily closed, according to a Facebook post by co-owner Joseph Price.
