SAN DIEGO -- The deadline to apply for a Cal Grant award for the 2013 school year is March 2, Assemblymember Toni Atkins says.
California students who are seeking grant funding to cover the costs of attending a college, university, or vocational school in the state are encouraged to submit their application for the award by the deadline.
Atkins said that the Cal Grant, offered by the State of California, is one of the best financial aid programs around. Students who apply and qualify for the award can receive up to $12,000 per year that does not have to be re-payed.
Cal Grants are considered the "ultimate graduation gift" as they do not need to repaid upon completing a degree program.
