Kimpton Hotels Leaves Atlanta But Plans New Phoenix, Philadelphia Properties
Arguably the first hotel brand that comes to mind when travelers think of stylish, gay-friendly lodgings, the Kimpton Hotel Group recently ceased management of its relatively new (opened in 2009) and swanky Hotel Palomar Atlanta. The hotel had been sold to new owners, and in March, it became the still very gay-popular Renaissance Atlanta Midtown. The news may be a slight disappointment for Kimpton fans visiting Atlanta, but the Renaissance still looks and feels much like its predecessor, and the dining on-site is still outstanding, although the venues have new names: Briza, which continues to serve contemporary Italian fare; and Rooftop 866 remains an inviting lounge serving lighter fare....Read Full Post
