Will the half of a jade heart that was found with Jade McCullough?s swaddling clothes when she was adopted at seven months lead her back to her roots, her birth family and her very identity in China?
The jade heart is called a memory stone. When loved ones knew they would be separated a long time and they feared time would alter their appearance, they used the broken halves of a jade heart to identify each other.
"Jade Heart" plays through Aug. 10 at Moxie Theatre, 6663 El Cajon Blvd. in the Rolando neighborhood of San Diego.
