Summer fun in Provincetown, from Food Festivals to Carnival Week

It's not as though most of us need a special reason to trek out to Provincetown in summer - I personally try to make it there anytime I'm in New England (and am hoping to spend a couple of nights there in August, during my annual trip to the Northeast to visit family in New Hampshire), and I know plenty of friends who consider summer visits to this beautiful little colonial maritime village at the tip of Cape Cod de rigueur. If you're planning to attend when one of the theme weeks or weekends is going on, you should really book your rooms ASAP - the remaining July and August weekends are already heavily booked up, although you can sometimes find rooms in nearby towns farther down the Cape, like Truro and Wellfleet (and you can also just take the high-speed ferry - just 90 minutes with Bay State Cruise Company or Boston Harbor Cruises - out for the day from Boston). It's also worth considering that the fun and pleasant weather in Provincetown, minus the major crowds, continues well past Labor Day, with a number of intriguing events set for September, October, and November....Read Full Post
