When Your Kid is Amazing

Nick and IMy son has this tendency to make me proud. It started the day of his birth and has continued to this very moment.  I won't make an exhaustive list of all the things he does to make me feel this way but trust me, there is no finer son.   Yesterday, I saw that he had a new blog post on "Chivalry" and I decided to go have a look.  After all, what mother doesn't enjoy reading her children's thoughts on the things she worked hard to teach.Although lengthy, it reminded me how thoughtful he is.  Not considerate-thoughtful (although he is VERY), but actually thinks about things-thoughtful.  It reminded me of this time when he was about 2 years old.  I walked past the kitchen and saw him sitting on the counter eating a banana.  "Nick," I said, "You are supposed to ask someone before you help yourself to food."  Without skipping a beat, he replied, "I did, Mommy.  I asked myself 'Nicky, can you have this banana?' and I told myself, 'Sure, go ahead.'"Always thinking...
