Autumn in Provincetown

I'm just back from a very quick trip to one of America's quintessential beach towns, and also one of the world's leading GLBT vacation getaways, Provincetown. High season in this artsy, historic fishing village at the very tip of Cape Cod is summer. I tend to visit in late spring or early fall, as I did last week - it's still busy enough that most restaurants, galleries, and bars are open, but the crowds are far below what they are in July in August. Also, inns and hotels start to drop their rates a bit by September, and fewer of them require minimum stays of two or more days (a week minimum is not uncommon during certain summer holiday weekends at certain Provincetown hotels)....Read Full Post
